Based on the book by the same name, JESUS REVOLUTION tells the story of a young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) being raised by his struggling mother, Charlene (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) in the 1970s. Laurie and a sea of young people descend on sunny Southern California to redefine truth through all means of liberation. Inadvertently, Laurie meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher, and Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer) who have thrown open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history. Rock and roll, newfound love, and a twist of faith lead to a JESUS REVOLUTION that turns one counterculture movement into a revival that changes the world.

Filming begins in March 2022 in Mobile, Ala. and then in April in Los Angeles. We will need extras multiple times throughout that window. For what scenes, you might be wondering? Recreating mass baptisms at Pirates Cove, huge congregational services at Calvary Chapel and the historic Calvary tent, hippie gatherings, and many other scenes.

So between March and April, 2022, we are building an army of authentic looking 1960s’ people. And YOU just might be one of the people we use!

Since the movie is based in the late 1960s, we are looking for people to change their look over the next few months so they’ll fit right in! If you’d like to register to be an extra in the film, here’s what we’re asking from you, starting right NOW:

Men's Look

Stop shaving! Let your beards and sideburns grow! Don’t cut your hair. Let it grow! Long, straight, curly, Afros, dreadlocks—we need all of it!

Women's Look

Pick your favorite ’60s hairstyle and start making it your everyday hairdo. Get your best look ready: beehive, bob, mop-top, straight hippie style, long braids—whatever you’re feeling!
